I am a music person.
I can’t pen, strum, or hum a lick of it, (well maybe a lick), but I am utterly moved by songs, sounds, and lyrics. I often cry when I’m watching The Voice. And if the music is live, forget about it. I can barely get through a live performance of The Star Spangled Banner at the beginning of a sports game.
What would your life look like from a particular time period if you were to summarize it in the songs you listened to? Of course, my favorite songs change depending on what was going on in my life. I fondly remember dancing around the living room with my baby son snuggled into my shoulder to Natalie Merchant’s Carnival. I cannot hear that song without conjuring up this sweet memory. Years later my kids and husband would create a summer song playlist every year we visited beautiful Hayden Lake. Those songs are now a shortcut to a favorite place every time we hear them. What’s the soundtrack from the happiest days of your life?
These songs were the playlist of my life during the 1990s. I’m amazed at how alive my memories become when I listen to them. Can you place them in the chapters of Flight of the Heart?
